What We Do
The 164th St Joseph Orphans' Picnic is August 10th, 2013. What began as a small picnic run by the Ursuline nuns as a way to raise funds for the orphans in their charge is now the largest Picnic of its kind in Kentucky. the event attracts over 60,000 people, and all proceeds still go directly back to the kids who live at St. Joe's. Join us on Friday, August 9th as we kick off the weekend festivities with Friday Night Live! - music and fun on the front lawn from 5pm - 10pm - then come back on Saturday to play at one of over 60 booths, eat a delicious chicken dinner, and enjoy fun for all ages all day long!
Picnic could not happen without the dedication of over 3,000 volunteers! Some individuals, families, and groups have been volunteering at the Picnic for over 50 years! Start your own legacy of volunteerism, help support our mission of "giving children a home," and have a good time doing it! Contact Kate Biagi at 502-893-0241 ext. 279 or for information on all the different Picnic volunteer opportunities!
You Can Always Help in Other Ways
No time to volunteer, but still want to help? There are SO MANY ways to help with Picnic and all year round. You can donate a cake for our cake booth - make it yourself, or have one made at any of our fine local bakeries (we'll even pick it up!). Own a business? We have sponsorships available! Have questions? Contact Rachel Firkins at 502-893-0241 ext. 318 or
