Congratulations Are In Order! |
At the annual Society dinner on February 2nd new Board officers were sworn-in, 50-year and 25-year Society members were presented with rosaries, and Sister Loretta Guenther's 60th anniversary as an Ursuline sister was celebrated. Congratulations to all honorees.
The Sister Loretta Guenther Education Fund was set up in 2002 in honor of Sister Loretta's Golden Anniversary as an Ursuline nun. The fund assists current and former residential children who need support for a private school, and also provides St. Joseph children extracurricular opportunities. The fund is still active and gifts can be made by mailing a check to St. Joseph Children's Home with a note designating the gift to Sister Loretta's Fund, or by using the online donation form with a note in the Comments section to designate the gift. |

Our January Employee of the Month - Laura Byassee
|
Laura Byassee is the Child Development Facilitator and joined St. Joe’s in 2010. Laura’s been wearing a couple hats the last 3 months, while the current CDC Director is on leave. Laura’s done an outstanding job, resulting in multiple staff from three different departments agency-wide nominating Ms. Laura for! Here’s what staff have to say about Ms. Laura’s exceptional work:
- She is willing to do whatever is needed and always in a positive way. She has stepped up in a time of need and didn’t miss a beat!
- I think she has done an outstanding job filling in. I am sure that it hasn’t been easy for her, but she has conducted herself in a very professional manor in dealing with staff, parents and any problems that have come her way.
- She has done a great job, and has been a great support to me when I needed someone to talk to and she very understanding.
- Laura’s professional demeanor and focus on communication is very appreciated. She is a hard worker and team player who truly loves the mission of the CDC.

Our 2011 Employee of the Year - Carol Smith |
| Ms. Carol has been an asset to St. Joseph Child Development Center for over 20 years. Her dedication to the agency and to the kids that she serves is immeasurable. Upon walking into Ms. Carol’s classroom you are greeted with kind words and a smile and, immediately, it is apparent that her classroom is a place of acceptance and learning. The environment that she creates for all of us at St. Joe’s is simply priceless. Whether one needs a zipper replaced on their pants or a certain children’s book for a special lesson – Ms. Carol can provide it. She is more than just an asset to St. Joe’s, her spirit is the very embodiment of what St. Joe’s is about, she truly gives children a home. |
