We had a party for our families who have adopted since 1996 when our program started. Since 2003 there have been 64 adoptions. There were activities for the families and a chance to reconnect. Each family made a “leaf” for the Adoption “Family” Tree which will be going up in the foster care office soon. Dr. Barry Walker, executive director, is seen assisting some of the children in creating their family’s leaf.

FIRST CAPITAL BANK OF KENTUCKY, the Frankfort Avenue branch, was the gracious host to a quilt display that highlighted foster care adoption. Several of our families loaned us their children’s adoption quilts (made for each family by the Sewing Society, pictured below) to display and catch the eye of bank customers.
