Here are some of the volunteer opportunities available at St. Joe's: |
Residential Volunteer
The Residential Treatment
Program serves girls and boys, ages 6 to 14. Our Activities Program
is very involved and we need volunteers to help out in many ways.
If interested in this program, please fill out the attached checklist
and return with your volunteer application.
Child Development
Center Volunteer
This day care program
serves 130 children,
ages 6 weeks
through preschool.
Many high school
students earn
their service
hours through
the CDC.
Please be aware that
there is a 3-6
month wait to
volunteer in
this program,
and that all
volunteers must
have a Background
Check at their
own expense.
Bargain Barn Volunteer
Our Bargain Barn
is a store located on-site at St. Joseph Children's Home. It
is similar to a Goodwill Store; we accept all items and sell
them back to the community, with proceeds going to benefit St.
Joe's children. Volunteers are needed to work from 9 AM until
12 NOON on Mondays, Thursdays, and the first Saturday of the
month.

Foster Care Volunteer
Volunteers are needed
to work in the administrative office and also in the Foster Care
Resource Room.
Sewing Society Volunteer
Volunteer quilters
work Mondays and Wednesday from 9 until 2, and on Tuesday evenings.
If you don't know how to quilt, expert quilters will teach you.
Physical Plant Volunteer
We welcome volunteers
who can complete physical plant projects, i.e. civic, business
and school groups that are able to help us maintain our building
and grounds.
Picnic Volunteer
Volunteers are needed
at the annual St. Joseph Children's Home Picnic held in August.
Opportunities include working in raffle booths, and also to serve
guests in the Fried Chicken Dining Room. Typically, volunteers
work in shifts of several hours of time. Again this is the perfect
time for students to earn service hours or for businesses to
complete community service projects. |
