August 22 was a great day for Volleyball Enthusiasts as they gathered at the 5th Annual St. Joseph Children’s Home Volleyball Open, organized by Bill and Jill Nold. St. Joe’s grounds were the perfect place for the event, and the weather was ideal as players and spectators met to support St. Joe’s mission of Giving Children a Home. Special thanks to Chris Dickerson, Arch L. Heady and Dignity Memorial; and Wade Lewis, Maximum ASP for their major sponsorships. Appreciation also goes to the following sponsors for their support: All Pro Champs, Biomet Tri-State Orthopedics, Buffalo Construction, CSEIT, Cutting Tools, First Financial Mortgage Corporation, J.T. Taylor Movers, Louisville Web Hosting, Lyons Roofing, Makers Mark, Miller Lite, The Poppe Law Firm, Saints, Tier 1 Consulting, and Travis and Associates. |

SPECIAL THANKS TO Stacey Finster, Chairperson, and Wil Shriner, Master of Ceremonies, for their support of St. Joe’s kids through the Feathers and Diamonds Gala, held October 17.
Wil Shriner, at left, spent the morning of the event with our residential children, watching Hoot, a movie he directed and produced about children trying to save a burrowing owl habitat from destruction. The movie features live burrowing owls and music by Jimmy Buffett, who encouraged Wil to produce the movie. Buffett was also listed as a co-producer, and played the role of Mr. Ryan, the science teacher, in the movie. |
