Our philosophy
We believe children develop
into strong, independent,
self-confident individuals
when given the proper
opportunities to stimulate
their growth socially, emotionally, physically, and intellectually.
Children learn best by doing, becoming active thinkers and experimenting
through play. Through play, children have the chance to gain meaning
from their environment. Offering children experiences that are
appropriate for their particular developmental level gives them
practice with their current skills and abilities and gently challenges
them to a higher level.
Our program offers nurturing, professional care for your child, and
is designed to help him or her
develop a strong sense of self worth. We provide your child a warm,
secure environment, filled with love, good physical care, and an
atmosphere for learning.
We strive to provide the highest quality program possible for young
children and their families. Our center is a comfortable place where
children and families feel a sense of belonging.
The Child Development Center is licensed by the state of Kentucky.
The state minimum standards provided by the State Department of
Human Resources regulating childcare operations within the state
are available at St. Joseph’s for review by parents.
St. Joseph is also accredited
through the Council on Accreditation. This includes the Child Development
Center.
The CDC is STARS recognized with a 3+ rating. This is a voluntary
program with much higher standards than state requirements. Please
refer to http://www.education.ky.gov for more information.
Age requirements
The CDC accepts children from ages six weeks through pre-kindergarten.
Tours of the center are given upon request. Tours are given Monday-Friday.
Since enrollment is based on the availability of space, you may
be put on a waiting list for the next available spot.

Hours of operation
The CDC is open Monday-Friday
from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. We do have someone available to care
for your child from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. and from 5:30 p.m. to
6:00 p.m. if needed. However,
we ask that the late room
be used for emergencies only. We are not
fully staffed during this
time and must maintain proper ratios. The 'early' and 'late' rooms
are available at no additional cost. |
